SRHS Varsity Boys Basketball: Ba’ag Land on CAA Division II State Tournament Bracket

The Salt River High School boys’ varsity basketball team landed on the CAA High School Boys Basketball Division II State Tournament bracket as the no. 14 seed. 

The varsity Eagles played their first game of the bracket against Gila Bend High School at the Skyline-Gila River Gym. Gila Bend took a strong lead, with a score of 21-4 at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles fought back and drew closer, and by halftime the Eagles were down by 10, with a score of 39-29. 

By the end of the third quarter, Gila Bend was up by 8 points. 

In the fourth quarter, the Eagles had Gila Bend fans on the edge of their seats, as they caught up in the last few minutes of the game. But with fouls giving Gila Bend the opportunity to take the lead through free-throw shots, Gila Bend won the game by 8 points, with a final score of 78-70. 

The crowd of family and friends cheered the team on as they wrapped up their 2019-2020 season.
